The year 2009 closing in, we at the Digression Sessions thought it’d be a good time to make a small summation of what’s been going on during the last 12 months and 12 episodes of Digression Sessions. In addition, we should take a sneak peak of what’s going to happen next year… and finally, to let you in on the best christmas present ever!

The year 2008 brought a lot of changes in our show. You’ve heard Digression Sessions deliver you anykinds of music varying from reggaeton to dark psytrance. This has all been possible because of our Guest DJ part of the show. However, now that we’ve cut the show in half, into a 2 hour show, we do not have the time for the Guest DJ’s anymore. There’s no reason to panic, since now the show is getting even more intense. We are not going to lose the randomness, but instead adding some factual content to the show, concerning the major topics of the modern clubbing scene.

The Digression Sessions christmas special will be aired on a regular schedule but is pre-recorded. Therefore, if you want to be part of the chrismast supermegabash, write us email now! Jimmy will wear a santa costume and answer all your mails. The entire digression sessions staff will spin back to back while eating incredible amounts of ginger cookies and drink gallons of mulled wine.

Everyone’s favourite christmas present has hit the stores. Go to your nearest MP3-dealer (beatport or such) and purchase Timo Juuti’s remix on Moonlighting by Chris Burn for your entire family and be the most popular christmas elf ever!

Sami Saari’s Wicked Recordings launching this fall!

In our last show we heard exciting news from our Guest DJ Sami Saari. Sami is launching his own label this fall, called Wicked Recordings. When we asked Sami ’bout his future plans, the response was simply “the next release will be an EP on my own label”. You should’ve seen Andy’s face!! I wasn’t that suprised since I’ve known this for sometime, but as an A&R of Wicked Recordings (yes, another suprise!) I didn’t want to spoil the fun from my future boss by gossiping around. Wicked Recordings will focus on twisted tech-, progessive- and electrohouse tracks by providing you extremely high quality releases on cd and digital format. The first two releases will be from Sami and from our co-op project Autoload. Stay tuned for more news on Wicked Recordings.

Back once again with the renegade masters!

Wiiihuu, we are back alive kicking and introducing you to a new world of electronic music…. haha, that was gay. However, summer is gone, was worst ever what it comes to weather here in Finland. Tonight, Jimmy is already playing some banging new techhouse tunes, VERY big ones! And I’m gonna review Antti’s new digital mixing equipment, EKS XP5 virtual CD players … hope it doesnt go too bad, havent tried but once them before.

What a great kickoff to DJMAG summer!

As you probably already noticed and/or heard, the first winner chosen from TENS OF MIXES in DJ MAG SUMMER SPECIAL was EUAN A. with a very nice groovy house mix. We fell in love with Euan’s way of mixing different styles yet by keeping it all together. We don’t have Euan’s BIO (feel free to post it), but we do know that he has been playing along with huge names such as Prodigy in places such as … [insert them here Jim! I know no London!].

Another big change in our show was the length. We cut down one hour and didn’t miss it at all. It kinda made the whole thing a bit tighter, more intense… which is a good thing. We also switched to progressive channel, and I’m not sure if that had the desirable effect but we indeed had more girls in the studio than ever before (more than men too!) and of course things got heaten up a bit, girls just can’t resist Jim’s shining … hair.. too prove it, here’s a picture of our Jersey Girl, Sandy, licking our microphone!

Anyway, that’s all for now… the next show is yet a bit different. As you all know, Jim is pregnant and he might give birth any day now… so we gotta figure a plan B. (to be continued…)

We can’t get online, and we got bored…

so we thought this would be a good moment to write our 1st blog entry. James doesn’t seem to get too excited about this thou, he seems it more pleasing to entertain our lady guests. Anyhow, we just took some great photos for pr purposes… on a playground! Super hot! We’ll add ‘em somewhere for you guys to see… hopefully they’ll be attached on some news headline or such. Yea… well… I quess that’s all for now… I’m gonna go chat with the baldy now. I really hope he posts a blog entry about Peter Hook soon…
